In this 71% organic dark chocolate from kuná, physalis, grown in the Andes, sweet and slightly tangy, is paired with a hint of salt. A recipe that reflects the open and spontaneous spirit of Latin cuisine.

Made in an artisanal factory guaranteed 100% allergen-free (milk, gluten, nuts, soy, eggs, peanuts, sesame, coconut), it is one of the few chocolates on the market that can be enjoyed safely by people with allergies.

Packaged in a box made from plant waste and a compostable film, it also has a minimal environmental impact.

Cocoa farmer and chocolate maker

Kuná sources exclusively from Kichwa family groups, who have been cultivating cocoa for generations in their small, biodiverse plantations called chakras.

These small villages are all located around and at the entrance of the Sumaco Biosphere Reserve and produce small quantities of organic endemic Nacional cocoa.

Kuná was founded in 2012 by Maria Fernanda Andrade and Luis Manuel Leon, combining social responsibility, cooperation with indigenous peoples, attention to biodiversity, organic farming, and quality. Maria and Luis combine enthusiasm, passion, and a commitment to quality. In its first year of existence, Kuná won the main award at the Ecuadorian Cocoa and Chocolate Show. In 2014, they also received the award for the best export product from Ecuador. The history of Kuná chocolate is closely linked to Asociación Wiñak, a cooperative founded by the indigenous Kichwa people of Archidona, in the Ecuadorian Amazon. The Kichwa harvest very high-quality cocoa in the Amazon jungle, which is partly located within the UNESCO Sumaco Biosphere. Additionally, for chocolate with a higher cocoa content, Kuná uses beans sourced from the Unión de Asociaciones Artesanales Eloy Alfaro of Esmeraldas....
