Kausai Sacha is a cooperative composed of 7 associations located in the Putumayo region of Colombia. It was established in 2021 when two cooperatives, ASOPROCAO and COPROCAGUAMUEZ, came together to discuss the needs of cocoa producers, the disadvantages related to pricing, and the manipulation by intermediaries that affected the relationships between the associations in Putumayo and Colombian chocolatiers. Kausai Sacha aims to increase the representation of Putumayo cocoa producers at national and international levels and, most importantly, to improve the quality of life for cocoa-producing families.
The high-quality cocoa from Kausai Sacha is primarily harvested in the Guamuez Valley, in the western part of Putumayo.
