Cocoa farmer and chocolate maker

Tulloch Estates

Nestled in the St. Thomas Ye Vale valley of St. Catherine, Jamaica, Tulloch Estates is a 6th generation, family-owned farm run by Jamaica born and raised Roger & Claire Turner. Roger & Claire are the definition of a dedicated and passionate farming couple. Prioritizing eco-kind farming practices over the past 40 years has allowed them to preserve the valley’s unrivaled beauty while producing exquisite tasting fruit. This passion and high level of stewardship has ensured that this estate will live on for many more generations to come.

Tulloch Estates grows an incredibly diverse mix of tropical fruit crops, ranging from well-known Caribbean delights like bananas, coconuts and sugarcane, to more exotic varieties like jackfruit, rambutan and longans. The family has always prioritized sustainability through diversity. Ancient wooded hills surround this idyllic property where tropical crops grow alongside two winding rivers at the basin of the valley. The resulting terroir is rich, healthy and ideal for growing fine grade cocoa.

With such perfect conditions, the couple have re-ignited an over 175-year-old family legacy of growing and fermenting single estate beans. This picturesque and untouched family-run estate is primed to make a mark with some of Jamaica’s finest cocoa produce.

LIKKLE MORE

They work in close collaboration their cacao farmers to grow and select the finest Jamaican cocoa beans, creating a unique tasting experience in each of their bars. Originally from the Ivory Coast, fine pastry chef and artisan chocolatier Nadine Burie spent her life moving around the world before settling in Jamaica in 2010, where she fell in love with the country, its nature, people and island vibes. As a personal fan of French patisserie, she was inspired to introduce it to her new homeland. She undertook fine pastry and chocolatier courses at Canada’s most prestigious chocolate academy, as well as various cocoa trainings with the best bean-to-bar specialists in the Caribbean, so that she could establish her own atelier back in Jamaica. A labor of love ensued for Nadine, to create a collection of tantalizing dessert recipes & wonderful artisan chocolates, infused with local flavors. Nadine has been crowned Best...
